Connecting the Dots: Collaborating to Achieve Lasting Impacts for Youth
Overview:
CMP managed the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Grantee Conference, in collaboration with Child Trends and Healthy Teen Network, July 19-21, 2016, in Baltimore, MD. This conference was hosted by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Adolescent Health, and was attended by over 1,000 researchers, practitioners, and federal, state, and local government staff. Participants were offered educational opportunities that included a variety of plenary sessions, concurrent breakout sessions, workshops, roundtable discussions, poster sessions, and exhibits.
CMP Services Provided:
CMP was tasked with managing all aspects of the conference including site selection, contract negotiation, online registration, facility and speaker management, poster and exhibitor management, materials production, and onsite staffing and execution of the conference.
CMP Value Added:
Thanks to CMP’s past relationships with Hilton Hotel and PSAV, we were able to secure a contract which included over $5,000 in complimentary guest rooms for speakers and staff, a very favorable guest room rate, and a 50% reduction in audio-visual expenses which resulted in savings of nearly $80K. CMP managed the room block so that our client did not incur any attrition fees.
Client Testimonial:
“CMP listens to their clients and does everyting in their power to make their client’s jobs easier all while saving them money. CMP Executive Program Managers are skilled advocates for their clients. They have strong relationships with many vendors which allow them to negotiate in their client’s best interest. Their wealth of experience in the field means that they think of every detail to ensure the event goes off without a hitch.”
